What we collect

When you fill in a form. Your name, company, email address, phone number if you give one, a description of your automation problem, and your budget range. These reach us only because you typed them.

On every visit, whether or not you accept cookies. The pages you open, the time you open them, the site or search engine you arrived from, any campaign tags in the link you followed, your browser, operating system and device type, and an approximate location — country, region and city — derived from your IP address by our host. We never store your IP address itself. This is recorded under our legitimate interest in understanding whether our writing reaches anyone.

Only if you accept analytics cookies. A single first-party cookie named bf_vid holding a random identifier, valid for one year. It contains no personal information and lets us recognise the same browser across visits, so a returning reader is not counted as a new one. Declining it costs you nothing on this site.

How we use it

To answer your enquiry, and to see which pages are worth writing more of. If you later contact us, we connect your enquiry to the pages you read beforehand, so we can reply about what you actually came for instead of asking you to explain it again.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not buy data about you from anyone, and we do not attempt to identify you from your IP address.

Storage and retention

Enquiries and visit records are stored in a Supabase database hosted on AWS (ap-northeast-1, Tokyo). Email notifications are sent via Resend. Both process data under their own privacy policies. For visitors in the UK and EEA this means your data is transferred outside your region under the relevant standard contractual clauses.

Visit records are kept for 26 months. Enquiries are kept until you ask us to delete them.

Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager are installed on this site, and both are loaded in a denied state under Google Consent Mode. They set no analytics cookies and record nothing until you press Accept all. If you choose Only necessary, they stay off and our own bf_vid cookie is never written — if one already exists, it is deleted.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookies link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing is one click, exactly like accepting was.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by emailing admin@buteforce.com.
